Menagerie Monday - Networking

Today's business world is a very different place from the world our grandfathers operated in, but human nature is still the same. We are social creatures. The good old boy network meeting at the coffee shop is a fading memory. But we still look for those connections to bind us, that sense of community. Networking is simply the process of building relationships with people who would be helpful to your business - whether it be individual customers or other businesses.

With all of the network marketing schemes out there, it is no surprise that networking has picked up a negative image, something I've been increasingly aware of as Wordizm has grown. Instead of trying to explain what I offer in traditional language, I've embraced more modern definitions and in the process can offer a clearer picture of the services Wordizm can offer.

In the end, it's all about community. Think about it and it makes sense. Working with other businesses toward a common goal will conserve resources. Redefining your relationship with your customers or fans will give them a vested interest in your success. Build a society of people around you who want to be part of what you do, and give them a way to feel involved in your business, and there's no limit to what you can achieve.

Just ask President Obama.

As always, thanks for reading,
