There are in life many defining moments. Some that set the pace for the rest of your days, some that rename you, and some that just shine a light of clarity on something you may not have realized about yourself.
Last week my husband came home from an outing with the kids and said that he'd seen what he thought was a Blackberry at the store. He held his fingers apart, the distance too tiny to have been a Blackberry, so I said no. I'm not an uber geek but I know that Blackberry technology hasn't made that leap yet. Perhaps, I suggested, it could have been an iPod Shuffle. They are small enough.
My husband gave me a baffled look, so I asked if someone were talking on this device. Maybe it was a variation on Bluetooth. If it was only a music player, though, chances are it was the Shuffle.
Would you believe I got a laugh for all of my patient and non-demeaning explanations?
Oh yes. He laughed at me. And then said, “Blackberry. The fruit.”
Ladies and gentlemen. I would like to introduce myself. I am Lori. And I am an uber geek.
